Broadview at Purchase Joins the MetaVerse
Purchase, New York – (March 3, 2023) – Purchase College Student Government President Red Addis and Vice President Meghan Moynihan learned more about the new Broadview at Purchase Senior Living Community under construction on their campus today through a virtual reality (VR) tour.
The students donned Oculus VR headsets as Broadview Executive Director Ashley Wade pointed out the community’s many features, including a swimming pool, fitness center, movie theatre, spa and salon, dining venues, and on-site health center. The visit was being filmed by Purchase College Senior Toby Nikls and fellow film major Kunga Choephel who are creating a documentary on the intergenerational learning community that will bring together students and older adults. “Very realistic,’’ commented Meghan. “So cool,’’ said Red.
Purchase at Broadview is one of the few senior living communities to use virtual reality in their marketing. Prospective residents can get a very realistic tour of the property and all its amenities before it is even built.
Broadview hired SPINE, an award-winning interactive media and 3D visualization studio based in Miami, to create the custom VR tour. Wade said that Broadview is one of the first companies in the senior living space to employ the technology to showcase its communities. She said the technology was a boon during the pandemic when prospective residents weren’t able to visit their offices for a tour.
“It’s very realistic,’’ said Wade. “At a time when people were not getting out, it was a convenient way for our prospective residents to see what we are all about.’’
Broadview at Purchase champions intergenerational connections and lifelong learning. In a unique concept, its Founders Learning Commons building is designed for students and Broadview residents to learn together. With 95 percent of the residences already reserved, Broadview at Purchase has more than 300 Charter Members (future residents who have reserved residences) who are already forming a sense of community.
Broadview will offer a full continuum of services including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Enhanced Assisted Living, and Memory Care. The community has 220 senior residential apartments and villas, 20 percent of which are set aside for residents who meet certain median income requirements.
Broadview is being co-developed by Senior Care Development, LLC and LCS Development, LLC, and will be operated by Life Care Services®.
