Meet Marketing Coordinator – Raina Woo

Raina Woo has been with the Marketing Team of Broadview РSenior Living at Purchase College since 2018, when the university-based retirement community was still finalizing plans and four years out from opening. Now with construction set to begin within the next year, she’s looking forward with great excitement to see Broadview start to take shape and be taking a stroll around the campus alongside the residents, in the not too distant future.

After earning her undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from State University of New York at Oswego and an associate degree in Marketing from SUNY Orange Middletown, Raina was presented an opportunity to work in senior living at Five Star Premier Residences of Yonkers, N.Y. She wore many hats at the community and continued to grow from one role to the next, loving her career more each step of the way.

She began her career as a Resident Relations Coordinator where she was able to guide the residents when they needed advice, be a helping hand, or make herself available if they just wanted somebody to talk to. Raina recalls some of her fondest memories as an Activities Director when she was running resident happy hours or helping someone with Alzheimer’s by directing sing-alongs for fun and stimulating exercises.

Raina also loved getting into the holiday spirit with the residents at her previous community. One year she dressed up like Uncle Sam for Independence Day, and she plans to put forth the same energy with resident activities at Broadview.

Throughout her life, Raina has been family oriented and had a very tightknit relationship with her grandparents. She says that her greatest soup recipes including sauerkraut, dumpling, turkey and garlic come straight from her grandmother. Raina believes that the generations before us have the best history and stories to share, which is why intergenerational programming at Broadview is going to benefit so many.

Raina really enjoys getting to know the charter members of Broadview and that there is always something fun and exciting to look forward to for promoting the unprecedented senior living community – just like she is looking forward to the grand opening of Broadview Senior Living at Purchase College.
